Many emergency stop buttons have a raised shield or guard ring around them to prevent accidental bumps, and Siemens switches in particular use a housing profile that a generic universal lockout cover often doesn’t seat against cleanly. This design is shaped to fit both cases rather than needing a separate adapter.
The lockout has two separate lock holes, so two different workers can each apply their own padlock to the same isolation point. Neither can remove the cover and re-energize the switch until both locks come off, which supports a two-person or dual-authorization lockout procedure on one control point.
It’s built around Siemens’ housing profile, so a close but non-Siemens shielded switch should be checked against the total and inner diameter measurements before ordering. A mismatch in shield height or diameter can leave gaps a standard lockout wouldn’t have.
The transparent PC construction lets supervisors see the switch’s position and any labeling through the cover without removing it, which matters for quick visual verification during a lockout audit.
